Rotary Club of Gateway City (Passport) Welcomes Five New Members in September Inductions

Kigali, Rwanda — September 2026

Rotary Club of Gateway City (Passport) recorded another significant milestone in its membership growth with the successful induction of five new members through two separate ceremonies held on 24 and 26 September 2026.

The two occasions — one physical and one virtual — brought together Rotarians, Rotaractors, prospective members and friends of Rotary, highlighting the club's growing membership and its ability to connect Rotarians across geographical boundaries.

Physical Induction in Kigali

The first ceremony took place on 24 September 2026 in Kigali, Rwanda, with the induction of Rtn. Olujimi Lawale as a new member of Rotary Club of Gateway City (Passport).

The ceremony was presided over by the Club Adviser, Rtn. Titilope Easy Adeniran PHF, with the Club President and some members of the club joining physically to celebrate the occasion and welcome the new member.

A total of 14 people attended the Kigali ceremony, comprising Rotarians, a Rotaractor and five prospective members who are expected to be inducted into the club in October 2026.

The gathering provided an opportunity for members and prospective members in Rwanda to fellowship, interact and strengthen their connections with the club. It also demonstrated the international character of Rotary Club of Gateway City (Passport), whose membership extends beyond a single location.

The presence of prospective members at the ceremony was particularly encouraging, as the club continues to build its membership and strengthen its presence among Rotarians and prospective Rotarians in Rwanda.

Four New Members Join Through Virtual Induction

On Saturday, 26 September 2026, the club held its second induction ceremony virtually, welcoming four additional members into the Rotary family.

The newly inducted Rotarians were:

  1. Rtn. Habibat Damilola Azeez
  2. Rtn. Ibrahim Ladipo
  3. Rtn. Raji Razak Ademola
  4. Rtn. Nafiu Yakub Folarin

The virtual ceremony attracted 26 participants, including several distinguished members and leaders of the Rotary community. Among those present were PAG Dayo Niyi-Idowu, AG Bukkie Adeniran, IPP Joyce Mary-Idowu, Rtn. Joshua Adewowin, Rtn. Yetunde Yusuf-Azeez and CP Abiodun Sobogun, alongside other Rotarians and guests.

The occasion was not only a formal induction but also a celebration of fellowship. A renowned DJ added a lively and celebratory atmosphere to the virtual gathering, making the occasion memorable for the new members and everyone who participated.


Building a Stronger Rotary Family

The induction of five new members within two days is another important step in the development of Rotary Club of Gateway City (Passport).

The two ceremonies demonstrated the club's distinctive approach to membership and fellowship — combining physical gatherings with virtual engagement to bring members together regardless of their location.

The Kigali ceremony, supported by the physical presence of the Club President and other members, further strengthened the club's connection with its growing membership in Rwanda. Meanwhile, the virtual ceremony enabled Rotarians and guests from different locations to participate in welcoming the four new members.

With five prospective members already identified for induction in October, the club continues to look forward to further membership growth and greater participation in Rotary service.

As these five new Rotarians begin their journey with Rotary Club of Gateway City (Passport), the club looks forward to their contributions, ideas, leadership and commitment to service.

The September inductions therefore represent not just the addition of five new names to the membership register, but the expansion of a growing Rotary family committed to fellowship, leadership and Service Above Self.
